Beautiful expression

We are all fascinated by what’s now known as Tharoorian English and can witness number of posts and reels on social media on how a particular phrase or sentence would appear by using Tharoor like words.

But beauty of any language does not lie in use of difficult words, but its attractiveness to the readers’ eyes.

While reading the latest book by my favourite author Dan Brown, I came across the following piece of conversation:

“I’ve witnessed your proclivity for proximity to peril.

And I your predilection for paranoid presumptions!”

The words used are quite common that are part of our daily conversations, but their use and sequencing make it very pleasant and poetic.

This is one aspect that all of us – budding, published and aspiring authors- need to work on to make our writing more engaging to the reader.
