Christmas and hope

Children sleep on the Christmas Eve,

Hoping for morning filled with happiness and surprise;

Santa comes during the night on his sleigh,

And no child misses out on his or her prize!

Goodies laden Christmas tree,

And socks hung in anticipation ;

Santa always comes and never disappoints ,

In satisfying children’s expectations.

There’s festivity, there are prayers,

All part of rituals and folklore;

People of all hues and faith join celebrations,

A tradition continuing since yore.

This year’s Christmas is all the more special,

As Corona again raises its ugly head;

Hopes are high that Santa will bring with him

Not only goodies but Corona’s “ The end”
